Asta la Vista Windows XP!
There comes a time in every man’s life when he must learn to say goodbye. With just a few short days until the release of the latest and greatest “Vista” from Microsoft, I think we can all agree that saying goodbye to XP will be easy enough.
I’m sure many of you have seen the recent Mac commercials with two guys standing and talking to each other. One represents a Mac, the other a PC. I’m certainly not going to open up that can of worms, however I think that Macs efforts are aimed at the wrong crowd. It’s like telling somebody that the Matrix sequels weren’t going to live up to the hype. Did we all still go see them anyway? Yes, of course.
Let’s talk about Windows Vista for a bit. First of all, for you non Spanish speakers, “Vista” is Spanish for “view.” Oddly enough even the English versions of Windows somehow retained the name “Vista.” I guess in this day and age of outsourcing everything the word just slipped through the cracks.
But in all seriousness, Windows Vista boasts to be the most important software release in history. I agree. I think Vista is easily a major breakthrough in modern day operating systems. Did they steal it from OSX? No, not all of it. It looks like OS, it smells like OSX, but really it’s Windows Vista. I think it’s important to point out some of the key differences between the two.
1. Windows Vista is better.
Ok so I am somewhat biased, but really what do you expect me to say? That OSX is better? I hardly think it’s fair to even attempt to justify that argument. First of all, OSX is much older, much more dated, and Windows Vista will include most of the cool features from OSX anyway. How can you beat that?
Sure it’s fun to joke around about Vista vs. OSX, but you have to remember that Mac will soon release a new OS of its own. The new Mac OS will most likely be leaps and bounds ahead of Windows Vista, but it has one major downside. I hear it will only work on Mac computers!
I’ll be in line in just a few days to pick up my copy of Windows Vista Ultimate, thank you very much. And yes, I’ll be enjoying it on my Apple monitor.
