I just read a very interesting article over on Yahoo about air powered cars. Apparently ex-Formula One engineer Guy Nègre has developed a working and efficient “Air Car“. The car will be put into production in India by Tata Motors, the largest automaker in India.
If you click the link above you can check out images of the car, how it works, and several news items related to the car’s development. The server hosting this site must be getting a lot of hits lately because it was really slow when I was trying to sift through it just now.
Apparently there will be 6,000 of these roaming the streets in India by 2008, according to projections. The car is not likely to pass crash tests in the US however. We have some pretty big cars and just from looking at the Air-Car I would guess that it wouldn’t fair well in a crash with an SUV. The Air-Car is cool, but is going to be a lot slower than a normal car. It looks like the car will max out with a top speed of around 70MPH. Not slow by any means, but, I bet it doesn’t get up to 70MPH nearly as fast as gas powered vehicles. Either way the Air-Car only costs around $2 to “re-pressurize”… Compared to the $50 or so that a normal car costs to refill right now, the speed sacrifice could easily be well worth it.
All in all this is some exciting news for anyone who is concerned about A, gas prices, B, the environment, or C, all of the above. With gas prices expected to hit $4 and $5 a gallon over the summer it’s nice to see that some companies are taking the steps to build more fuel efficient vehicles. Hybrid cars are definitely going to become more popular in the coming years, but, hopefully even better technology is on the way to becoming mainstream.

After years of waiting Adobe will finally unveil one of the most desired software suites ever with the release of CS3 this month. I’ve called Adobe multiple times in the past few weeks. First I called to confirm the release this month, secondly to get my pre-order in for Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium. Yes, I paid with real money. (I hate pirates)
Personally I am looking forward to this release. It’s the first release that will include Macromedia flagship products since Adobe acquired Macromedia several years ago. The creative minds at Adobe have worked together with those originally with Macromedia to make the different programs work seamlessly together. Photoshop now fully integrates with Flash. You can now import PSD files directly into Flash movies and have access to your predefined layered graphics. Photoshop also has many new built in 3-D imaging features. I am definitely looking forward to checking these out.
Anyway, as soon as I get my CS3 package in the mail I’ll be sure to post some screenshots and post a nice review of the new and improved software. Adobe has told me that they expect the software to ship by the end of April, so I figure I still have a good week or two before I should start expecting anything.

There comes a time in every man’s life when he must learn to say goodbye. With just a few short days until the release of the latest and greatest “Vista” from Microsoft, I think we can all agree that saying goodbye to XP will be easy enough.
I’m sure many of you have seen the recent Mac commercials with two guys standing and talking to each other. One represents a Mac, the other a PC. I’m certainly not going to open up that can of worms, however I think that Macs efforts are aimed at the wrong crowd. It’s like telling somebody that the Matrix sequels weren’t going to live up to the hype. Did we all still go see them anyway? Yes, of course.

Grease up your PC and it will go faster! No really, this is true..
Ok, this is my first blog post on GreasyPC.com so I’ll attempt to make it a worthy one. Basically, this site will soon become an “All things tech” blog, but I’ll focus a good deal on computers, hardware, and the latest and greatest gadgets.
I’m a gamer, a programmer, a web designer, and a tech. I dabble with all things tech and am usually on top of the latest tech news. Having never really gotten into blogging, I’m a bit of a late comer to the scene but I’ll just have to blog extra to make up for lost time!
I’ve actually made two new bog websites today, including this one. It shouldn’t be too hard finding the coolest tech news out there, so keep an eye on this site and look for updates as I move forward.
Stay tuned..
